Electric bills are not very fun.

It's the summer. It's hot. I live in AZ. Someone please make it stop.

LittlePeopleWealth has a great post with 9 ideas on how to save on your air conditioner this summer. Read it, it's pretty good!

Another way to save money on your electric bill is to see if your electric company has a "time of use" plan, where you can save money by using less electricity during certain hours of the day, and only using your stove, dishwasher, dryer etc during "off peak" hours.
Here's SRP's:If you have any great ideas on how to save on your electric bills (especially during the summer) let us know!

We use alot of fans, keep blinds closed, and hang alot of laundry. We live in a older house that needs new windows so we do whatever we can.

I don't know if it counts as "saving" because you spend the same, but see if your company has a level pay plan. We pay the same amount every month so that we will have a lot saved for those hot summer months. Then we are not breaking the bank in the hottest months of the year because it's already saved in our utility account. We also have a box put on our house from the electric company and if they need to they can turn the air off for a certain amount of time. In our last house we saved about $30 a month in the summer. Anxious to see how much we save this summer. By the way, it hasn't been turned off in the time we have had it. (About 3 years)

Thanks for the link! We used to live in a house with peak/off peak hours, but not anymore. We do have a timed dishwasher so if you live in a SRP area then you can use that to make sure it runs during off-peak hours :-)
